Begin with traceable paper
FSC-certified paper supports responsible sourcing and gives buyers a clearer chain of custody. Certification requirements and logo use should be discussed early so the correct documentation and artwork rules are followed.
Select paper by purpose
A distribution booklet, pew hymnal and presentation Bible have different durability and weight needs. Matching paper bulk, opacity and binding to the real use can reduce material without compromising readability.
Use finishes selectively
A strong design does not always need plastic-heavy decoration. Uncoated stocks, water-based coatings, embossing and a single well-placed foil detail can create a premium result with a more considered material mix.
Design for the full journey
The most sustainable package still needs to arrive intact. Material reductions should be tested against stacking, humidity, transport vibration and the real product weight before production is approved.
Project checklist
- Request FSC options during quotation
- Reduce empty space before reducing strength
- Use one purposeful premium finish
- Test the complete packed product
